UA-PTC Students

The ACCUPLACER Next Generation test is offered for Admission to UA-PTC and Placement in Reading, Writing, and Math courses on campus. The ACCUPLACER test determines whether students need to take developmental courses. First time college students must score a 226 or higher on the ACCUPLACER reading test to be admitted to UA - Pulaski Technical College. We super score, pull scores from the highest test. We also offer the test on two of our campuses Main Campus in North Little Rock and at the Little Rock-South site.

The ACCUPLACER is not timed, but usually takes about two to two and half hours to complete. You will also need to bring your photo ID to take any test in our centers.

You will be required to take the ACCUPLACER before being admitted to UA-PTC if:

  • You have never attended college and have not taken the ACT or ACCUPLACER.
  • You did not score a 13 or above on the Reading section of the ACT or a 226 or above on the Reading section of the ACCUPLACER.
  • It has been 5 years or longer since you have taken the ACT, COMPASS, or ACCUPLACER, and you have not successfully completed reading, writing, or math coursework.
  • If you have attended college but have not successfully completed Composition I or College Algebra, you will be required to take the ACCUPLACER for placement purposes

ACCUPLACER Fee:

  • There is a $20 non-refundable fee to take all sections of the ACCUPLACER (reading, writing, and math).
  • There is a $10 non-refundable fee to take only one (1) section of the ACCUPLACER. When making payment, please have the exact amount on hand and during after business hours. If testing at the Little Rock-South site, please bring exact change for all testing fees.
  • Test proctors do not have cash.

ACCUPLACER Preparation Materials:

You can utilize our ACCUPLACER preparation materials to get ready for the test. We encourage all students utilize these resources. The ACCUPLACER determines placement into Reading, Writing, and Mathematics courses. Preparing for this test can save a student time and money.
