Sunday, August 18, 2019

Disability Services is committed to providing equal and integrated educational and programmatic access for individuals with disabilities.  UA - Pulaski Technical College strives to ensure access for students with disabilities is compliant with both the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA) and section 504 of the 1973 Rehabilitation Act, as well as the ADA Amendments passed by Congress on September 29, 2008. Any UA-PTC student with a disability may utilize services through Disability Services.

Prospective Students

All students with a disability who wish to access services are encouraged to contact the Disability Services Office in the early stages of their college planning.

Once an application for admission has been submitted, please schedule a meeting with a Disability Services Counselor to determine eligibility for academic support services and accommodations.  During this meeting, the Disability Services Counselor will discuss appropriate documentation and transition concerns.

Please do not delay meeting with a Disability Services Counselor because you are concerned that you may not have the appropriate documentation.  If documentation is needed, we can assist you with the process of obtaining documentation from a qualified diagnostician or from other schools you have previously attended.

Current Students

At any point during the semester, students can register with Disability Services and request accommodations.   Please be aware that accommodations are not retroactive and accommodations are based on the nature of the student’s disability, the environmental barriers encountered, and the content of documentation provided.

For students who are fully registered with Disability Services, please be aware that you must request an Accommodation Letter each semester.
