Emergency Broadcast Tower TEST 2:30 today
UA-PTC Police will conduct several audible tests Friday, Jan. 18 at approximately 2:30 p.m. using the North Little Rock Emergency Broadcast Tower located on the parking lot on the south side of the Campus Center adjacent to the Veterans Administration property.
These tests will consist of a siren followed by a voice command stating “there is an active threat on our campus; please seek shelter” and then ends with the siren again. This test should last about a half of a hour. It is only a test.
Officers will be outside on campus during the test. The media and the local neighborhood have also been notified.
UA-PTC was offered an opportunity to access the NLR Emergency Broadcast Tower located on our campus. A new program was installed enabling the UA-PTC Police and other administrators to broadcast messages to alert our campus community in case of an emergency. The test is necessary to ensure that the system works properly. If successful, next week you will receive another email identifying several tones and what they stand for. We appreciate your patience in this matter.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the UA-PTC Police at 580-1831.
