Practical Nursing Students will be selected for enrollment by a point system, based on the following criteria: Kaplan Admission Test scores, advanced coursework, and medical certifications. Applicant must be 18 years of age or older.

(a) Complete an application for admission to UA - Pulaski Technical College, including all required admission documentation. Admission to the college does not constitute admission to the Practical Nursing program.
(b) Set up an appointment with our Allied Health Advisor, in (UA-PTC portal) academic advising link
(c) Provide your high school transcript or GED (required even if a college transfer)
(d) Provide a copy of ALL medical certifications and corresponding transcripts
(e) Provide official transcriptions of completion of coursework from all transferring colleges
(f) Provide proof of two immunizations against measles and rubella as mandated by Arkansas state law
The following courses may be accepted to meet the LPN 1304 Body Structure and Function requirement within the first semester of the program for the 11-month full-time Traditional Track and for the 22-month, part-time Nontraditional Track:
Anatomy & Physiology I w/lab AND Anatomy & Physiology II w/lab
(BIOL 1402 AND BIOL 1403)

The following course may be accepted to meet the LPN 1702 Nutrition In Health and Illness requirement within the second semester of the program for the 11-month full-time Traditional Track and for the 22-month, part-time Nontraditional Track:
Applications must have completed prerequisite courses with a “C” or higher from an accredited college. Prerequisite courses must be completed by the end of the spring semester before the first fall term in which the program begins.
Submit ACT or Accuplacer scores that are less than five years old. All required developmental course(s) must be completed prior to admission to the Practical Nursing Program. Note: Accuplacer math scores below 100 or ACT math scores below 21 will require the student to take Math for Allied Health (MTH 1303) before being accepted to the program of study.
Pay the $50 fee for the Kaplan Admission Test and complete the test. Kaplan Admission Test scores used for entrance into the program will be no more than two years old.
All of the above documentation, including proof of required development coursework, must be submitted for an applicant to be accepted to the program. Students are accepted contingent on having a clear drug screen and passing a criminal background check from a UA-PTC approved agency. Passing the criminal background check specifically means there are no convictions, whether misdemeanor or felony, and there are no charges pending.
