Computer Adaptive Placement Exam (CAPE)

Computer Adaptive Placement Exams (CAPE’s) are designed to assess the student’s skill level in Spanish, French, or German. The CAPE allows for accurate placement in Spanish, French, or German courses without meeting prerequisite courses. Students do not earn credits by taking the CAPE.

CAPE is offered in the Testing Center at the Main Campus (2nd floor of the Campus Center Building, Room 240) on Tuesday 9:30 a.m. – 4 p.m., Wednesday 9:30 a.m. – 2 p.m. and Friday 9:30 a.m. - 2 p.m.

CAPE is offered at the Little Rock-South site Thursday (Student Services, Room 101) from 9:30 a.m. - 4 p.m.

  • There is no fee for the test
  • The CAPE is a one-time test
  • The test is not timed and lasts approximately 15-30 minutes
  • Results are printed immediately after completion of the assessment
  • No food, drinks, and/or children are allowed in the Testing Center
  • Cell phones must be turned OFF and placed in locked cabinet
  • A valid photo ID with name (Driver’s License, state ID, student ID, etc.) is required
