VF Outlet Recognizes Worthy Work at UA – Pulaski Tech

April 29, 2019
Little Rock, AR -VF Outlet, Inc. recently hosted Workwear Weekend, an event celebrating vocational work and offering workers a special discount on workwear apparel from top brands. With a dedicated workwear shop in every store, VF Outlet offers workers durable and functional apparel at quality prices.

VF Outlet is a purpose-led organization that believes all work is important. As a disproportionate number of experienced workers approach retirement, many industries are reporting a gap in skills and a declining interest in filling these jobs. Through the Workwear Weekend event, VF Outlet aimed to recognize and promote trade jobs and give back to organizations that develop new talent in the communities they serve.

Workwear apparel is meant to enhance a worker's daily life and offer features to provide protection, ease of movement, and reliability. With apparel from Riggs by Wrangler, Lee, and Dickies, VF Outlet offers a variety of options for workers. Products contain special fabrics with technology for reducing abrasion, stains, and tears, with many including stretch fibers for extra mobility. Many products are available with comfort waistbands, reinforced knees for those that kneel, bend, and twist frequently, and wicking fabric to keep the body cool. Functional pockets offer convenient access to tools necessary for the job. Workers who visited during the event were offered a discount on these items, as well as refreshments and recognition from store staff.

To further celebrate and recognize the importance of trade jobs, VF Outlet donated to seven vocational program scholarship funds. The selected scholarships were determined based on nominations from stores across the country. A program or institution was selected in each region of the country based on the variety of programs offered and the store's research on how those educational opportunities help to retool the workforce. Locally, VF Outlet donated to the general scholarship fund at University of Arkansas - Pulaski Technical College, which was nominated by the VF Outlet store in The Outlets at Little Rock.
