UA - Pulaski Tech to stage Arsenic and Old Lace

UA-PTC theater students will present Arsenic and Old Lace April 12-15 in The Center for Humanities and Arts April 12-15.

Showtimes will be as follows:

• Wednesday, April 12: 12 p.m. (school groups only)
• Thursday April 13: 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.
• Friday, April 14: 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.
• Saturday, April 15: 7 p.m.

UA-PTC theater instructor Sheila Glasscock directs Joseph Kesselring's classic comedy that revolves around the Brewster family, which is brimming with charming and eccentric - and homicidal - characters. Mortimer Brewster is a drama critic whose two spinster aunts have a unique hobby - they poison lonely old men with elderberry wine laced with arsenic. One of his brothers thinks he's Teddy Roosevelt, and another murderous brother is on the run from the law. All get in the way of Mortimer's plans to marry the woman he loves. 

The play premiered in 1941 and went on to be one of Broadway's longest-running shows. The movie version by director Frank Capra was released in 1944 and starred Cary Grant, Josephine Hull and Peter Lorre.

Tickets cost $7 for general admission and $5 for students. School groups on April 12 pay $2 per student. Tickets can be purchased at the door on a first-come, first-served basis or reserved online here. Doors open 30 minutes before show time, and seating is general admission.

The show is family friendly and runs approximately two hours.
