UA-PTC culinary school participates in Whole Grain Sampling Day
UA-PTC's Culinary Arts and Hospitality Management Institute is one of the hundreds of sites nationwide participating in Whole Grain Sampling Day on Wednesday, March 29 - a day that offers people a chance to delight in the unique textures and flavors of whole grains. Restaurants, universities and supermarkets across the nation are planning special promotions like serving low- or no-cost whole grain items, special menu items and tastings.
The event is organized by the Whole Grains Council, a nonprofit consumer advocacy group working to increase consumption of whole grains for better health.
At UA-PTC, the Healthy Foods & Nutrition class will discuss whole grains and their health benefits and learn about the different grains. Additionally, Chef Philippe Ducrot will feature whole grains in his lunch menu for the day. For more information, visit www.wholegrainscouncil.org.
