Cosmetology Instructor Program of Study is designed to be completed in two semesters: Fall and Spring. Classes in this program are offered at the Little Rock-South site, and are held Monday, Tuesday, and Friday, 3-9 p.m. The program also uses an extended year schedule to enable students to complete the number of clock hours required by the Arkansas Board of Cosmetology to sit for the state licensure exam. A total of 600 clock hours must be earned to sit for the Arkansas Board of Cosmetology Instructor license test.
Students may enter the Cosmetology Instructor Program of Study at the beginning of any Fall semester. Students must enroll for all courses each semester.
This two-semester program allows licensed cosmetologists the opportunity to achieve the competencies needed to meet the Arkansas Board of Cosmetology requirements for Cosmetology Instructor. This course of study offers instruction in class preparation, conducting theory and practical classes and keeping student records. Students may sit for the Arkansas Board of Cosmetology Cosmetology Instructor exam after completing 600 hours of study.
