Chancellor’s Award – Tuition Scholarship

The University of Arkansas – Pulaski Technical College in collaboration with the University of Arkansas – Fayetteville provides the Chancellor’s Award (CA) to assist eligible employees to reduce tuition expenses associated with attending graduate school (i.e., Masters and Doctorate level; excluding law and Medical schools). Terms and Conditions

Definitions

1. Eligible Faculty Member
“Eligible faculty member” means a full-time, benefits-eligible faculty member employed by UA-PTC for three consecutive and contiguous years.

2. Eligible Staff Employee
“Eligible staff member” means a full-time, benefits-eligible staff employee employed by UA-PTC for three consecutive and contiguous years.

3. Full-time
“Full-time” means 100% effort of an employees’ established workweek as designated by UA-PTC.

4. CA
“CA” means the University of Arkansas – Pulaski Technical College Chancellor’s Award.

5. Receiving institution: University of Arkansas – Little Rock or University of Arkansas – Fayetteville.

6. Sending institution: University of Arkansas – Pulaski Technical College

Criteria of the Award

1. Night, weekend, and online classes are only applicable for the Chancellor’s Award Program.

2. Applicant must be a UA-PTC employee for three consecutive (and continual) years.

3. A maximum of six credit hours are applicable per semester for the Chancellor’s Award Program. The Award applies to Fall and Spring semesters only.

4. The chosen degree path must align with the applicants’ UA-PTC job responsibilities.

5. Receiving institution grade requirements must be maintained in the degree plan courses. This program will not cover repeated courses.

6. All courses will be taken for a grade.

7. Associated fees are not covered by the Chancellor’s Award and are the full financial responsibility of the awardee.

8. Applicant is responsible for 50% of the tuition charge and the receiving institution (UA-LR or UA-F) is responsible for the remaining 50%.

Eligibility

1. Applicant must be a UA-PTC employee for three consecutive (and continual) years.

2. Applicant must meet all graduate school entrance requirements of the receiving institution.

3. The chosen degree path must align with the applicants’ UA-PTC job responsibilities.

4. Receiving institution grade requirements must be maintained in the degree plan courses. This program will not cover repeated courses.

5. Applicant is responsible for 50% of the tuition charge and the receiving institution (UA-LR or UA-F) is responsible for the remaining 50%.

Cessation of Eligibility

An employee/student who receives the CA is responsible for payment of the 50% of tuition expense to the receiving university based on the payment schedule of the attending university. If a post-registration audit reveals the following, the employee/student will be non-eligible for the award:

1. Eligible UA-PTC employee has a change of employment status from full-time.

2. Termination.

3. The CA has been applied to any ineligible institution, tuition, or fees.

4. Documented eligibility and criteria points are not followed.

Use of the Award Benefit

The CA is limited to tuition for courses taken at the receiving university under the terms of this plan. It does not apply to any fees, including, but not limited to, late fees, finance charges, health center fees, general fees, lab fees, and dissertation fees. Such fees or tuition not covered under this plan is the responsibility of the employee/student.

Limitations and Restrictions – Eligible Employee/Student

As degree candidates, the eligible employee/student must be formally admitted to the receiving university. As such, the employee/student will receive a scholarship consistent with 50% of the cost of tuition for courses, which meet the academic requirements of her/his degree program for a maximum of six (6) credits per semester (Fall and Spring semesters only). All courses must be taken for a grade.

Any employee/student taking courses that do not meet the aforementioned restrictions will be assessed tuition and fees.
