UA-PTC Student

Ah, undecided? Fear not, as you are not alone. An estimated 20 to 50 percent of students enter college as undecided, and an estimated 75 percent of students change their major at least once before graduation. UA - Pulaski Tech is the right place to explore your academic options while discovering your career interests.

Below we have provided free third-party resources that will help you identify any of your career interests, work personality strengths, and preferred work environment. After completing one or all of these, you are welcome to schedule an appointment with a career advisor to discuss your results.

O*Net Interest Profiler - English | O*Net Interest Profiler - Spanish - O*Net Interest Profiler can help you find out what your interests are and how they relate to your employment and career goals. When you have your results, it is recommended that you jot them down somewhere or e-mail them to yourself so that you can refer back to them as you explore the different career fields that reflect your interests. You are encouraged to bring this information to your Academic Advising appointments and New Student Orientation.

CareerFitter - CareerFitter is a free online test that helps match your work personality strengths and your optimal work environment. For a small fee, CareerFitter provides an additional premium service that matches careers based off your answers provided in the free test.

My Next Move - My Next Move provides a streamlined career search and discovery for students and job seekers. Includes a built-in interest assessment and access to training, education, and job opportunities. Straightforward, easy-to-read one-page career reports help guide individuals’ next move on their road to a satisfying career.

Designing Your Career - The Designing Your Career online tool is a free, self-paced tool that utilizes design-thinking principles to help individuals explore their career interests and goals. It was developed by Yale's Office of Career Strategy (Yale OCS) in response to the lack of a suitable assessment tool that could cater to the diverse interests of its students. The tool is available to anyone, not just Yale students and alumni, and has been used extensively in advising sessions, faculty referrals, and individual self-exploration.
