There are three add/drop periods within each term with different deadline dates and refund amounts. Students should refer to the Academic Calendar for specific add/drop/swap and drop/withdraw dates for the term. Drop/withdraw requests that are not submitted in the method(s) described below will not be accepted. Requests received after the published deadline will not be accepted.
Students who receive Financial Aid should visit the Financial Aid Office to determine how dropping a class or withdrawing will affect their Financial Aid.
Add/Drop/Swap
Students can add or drop classes at the beginning of the semester within the deadline dates listed in the Academic Calendar. Students can add or drop classes online through the Campus Portal. After this period, students cannot add new classes to their schedule or drop classes through the Campus Portal.
Dropping a Class
After the add/drop/swap deadline, students who wish to drop a class must fill out a drop form online through the Campus Portal.
Withdrawing from All Classes
Students who wish to drop ALL classes must complete a withdraw form online through the Campus Portal.
Refunds for Dropped Classes
Refunds will be issued to students who officially drop or withdraw within the deadline dates listed in the Academic Calendar. Refunds are normally processed within 3 weeks of receipt of the official drop or withdraw form. All refund checks will be made payable to the student.
15-week and longer terms
Before classes begin through the first five (5) days of class – 100% refund
Second week of classes – 50% refund
After second week of classes – No refund
8-week terms
Before classes begin through the first four (4) days of class – 100% refund
Fifth (5th) day of classes – 50% refund
After fifth (5th) day of classes – No refund
4-week terms
Before classes begin through the first two (2) days of class – 100% refund
Third, fourth, and fifth day of classes – 50% refund
After fifth day of classes – No refund
