Early College Cost and Payment Information

Sunday, September 24, 2017

Early College Programs can save you money!

You or a parent are responsible for all costs of PTC courses taken for concurrent and dual credit, unless the costs for these courses are paid by an institutional or private scholarship, a grant, private foundation, or other private entity.

Your payment depends on the number of classes you are taking, where you take the class, who teaches the class, and if you are taking the class for concurrent or dual credit.

The difference between the rate you pay and the cost of the PTC regular tuition rate is an academic scholarship, and you will receive a federal tax form 1098T at the end of the year, reflecting the scholarship.

Financial aid is not available for students enrolled in concurrent or dual credit classes.

Students who enrolled in elementary or secondary schools are not eligible for financial aid from Federal Student Aid programs, even if the student is simultaneously enrolled in an eligible postsecondary program. A student is considered to be enrolled in a secondary school if the student is pursuing a high school diploma. (34 CFR 668.32 (b)).
