Cosmetology Students

Cosmetology Certificate

The Cosmetology Technical Certificate Program is designed to be completed in three semesters with entry points at the beginning of any fall, spring, or summer term. Summer sessions are not required. Students must enroll in all courses each semester.

This program is designed to provide cosmetology education to meet the requirements of government agencies and the skills standards set forth for entry-level cosmetologists. This course of study offers instruction in theory and lab basic services and theories and principles of cosmetology arts and sciences. Students may sit for the Arkansas Cosmetology exam for licensure after completing 1500 clock hours of study.

Hair Care Certificate

This Certificate of Proficiency Program is designed to provide cosmetology students certificates of achievement along the path to licensure. This course of study instructs students in basic theory and lab services and in the theories and principles of Cosmetology arts and sciences.

Nail Technology Certificate

The Nail Technology Program is designed to be completed in the fall and spring. Classes in this program are offered at the Little Rock-South site. A total of 600 clock hours must be earned to sit for the Arkansas Nail Technology license exam. Students may enter the Nail Technology Program at the beginning of any fall or spring semester. Students must enroll in all courses each semester.

This two-semester program is designed to provide nail technology education to meet the requirements of government agencies and the skills standards set forth for entry-level nail technologists. This course of study offers instruction in theory and lab basics services, as well as preparation for the state exam for licensure.
